Update

We have established contact with ARC and they are keen to work with us on the Autism Awareness Project. However there will be several amendments to our original proposal.

Firstly, we will not be conducting talks in schools with autism support. This is because ARC is in the midst of planning strategies to give talks with their own people, so it is not necessary for us to do double the work.

The most viable option for us now is the music festival with local musicians who can come forth and speak up for the cause. We will also have some speakers and we will give out information as well.

Also April 2 is World Autism Day. While it is too late for us to do anything this year, we can look forward to plans for next year.

Proposal is shaping up, with everyone chipping in different portions. I am excited. :) Please email your parts, people! Thank you.

The Next Step will be interesting. We'll have to obtain funding!

Hi you guys really deserve credit for initiating this project to campaign for public awareness on autism. I believe that it wouldn't be productive to sit around and wait for the authorities to educate the public on this topic, even though many autistic individuals could have been helped had parents gotten an earlier awareness of their child's condition or had the people around them known how to react.

Personally, I'm working on a research poster on the Internet (esp. online chat programs like MSN) and the autistic individual. My research data currently encompasses all but one person, who also happens to be my friend. If you guys have any information to provide on this topic, I'd be really happy!

Cheers & God bless!

Hi mel, thank you for your kind encouragement! We too believe that many issues, not just autism, can be made known by us, the common people. Ignorance can no longer be the excuse for the potential damage an individual can suffer in silence - all because nobody wants to talk about it.

Your research sounds interesting. Could you fill me in on more details in an email? We would be glad to help in any way we can. Thank you! :)
